This article provides 11-minute life hacks for IT professionals. The 11-minute life hacks will help you get the most out of your day, so that you can be more productive and have time to do things outside of work. This blog about life hacks is designed to provide a little relief from the stress many IT professionals experience on a regular basis.
Take time off, get regular massages, schedule in pampering activities like pedicures every couple weeks with friends or family members who can give you some much needed TLC!
Go for walks outside as often as possible when weather permits; if it doesn’t permit, then look up pictures online of nature scenes that make you happy or give you peace
Declutter your workspace to reduce distractions, stress, and anger; have everything in its place so that when you need it later there’s no hunting required for where the thing is hidden away!
Set up a recurring alarm reminder with snooze functionality if necessary!
Eat more protein (e.g., eggs) or drink something high in protein before bedtime to help avoid waking up during middle of night due to hunger pains; be sure not to eat foods containing lots of sugar such as chocolate right before bedtime because these can cause us difficulties sleeping soundly through the night
When you want to indulge in something, do it without guilt and just try not to make a habit of it
Get rid of unnecessary physical materials such as superfluous office supplies (e.g., extra boxes) or papers that have been stashed somewhere for years because it may be time to finally throw them out
Throw away any trash on your desk or in drawers; if there is a need to keep some papers for reference, then store these items in boxes and put them away cleanly so they don’t get lost
Drawers and desktop should be clear of clutter if there is any, then throw it away or recycle it; folders also need to be neat and orderly with no overlapping documents (e.g., Sales vs Marketing)
Make sure your desk surface has a keyboard tray in case the height isn’t adjustable enough for you! There’s nothing worse than having to break your wrist typing on an uncomfortable desk top because we’re not tall enough! The keyboard tray enables us to type comfortably while sitting at our desks without being hunched over all day long!
Sort paperclips from pens/pencils and store them neatly together or throw away old ones. It’s important not to lose any of these items because they’re essential tools for our jobs! Keep pencil sharpeners nearby (or at least well organized) even though many people prefer using gel ink pens nowadays. Pens need refills too, but those can get expensive quickly depending on what type we use to ask around before committing to a new pen!
Create a document folder on your computer desktop that is filled with shortcuts of what each of the files are and their purposes, so you can quickly find information without having to search through everything. This will help save time in case we need to troubleshoot someone else’s machine! Also, keep an external hard drive handy at all times (e.g., USB) and back-up company data regularly by copying folders onto it as well as uploading it securely online every couple weeks
We tend not to notice how frequently our clothes start to show wear or how out of style they become when we’re looking at them every day! It may be time for a wardrobe refresh this year lks outside as often as possible when weather permits; if it doesn’t permit, then lookup pictures online of nature scenes that make you happy or give you peace of mind
It’s important to have an ambient light source when we’re working because it prevents eye strain and makes us more alert; also, keep a desk lamp nearby with enough brightness (e.g., 40-100 lumens) so that all areas of the workspace are adequately lit
Reminders can help us stay organized by reminding us about tasks or events as they come closer in time instead of forgetting them entirely. They should be set up ahead of time and include different types such as recurring alarm reminders, notes to self, text messages from friends/family members etc.; this is especially useful for those who struggle with remembering what day it is or where we need to be
We’re constantly connected and checking our phones, but don’t forget that they become drained from all the usage! Keep them charged with external chargers for emergencies or keep one on hand at work. Some of these devices can even charge other gadgets too if you purchase an additional adapter; this is helpful for when someone forgets their charger and needs help with charging theirs
Buying office supplies like paper clips, pens/pencils etc. will save us time because then we’ll never have to leave work early just to go out shopping again for something as simple as those items! It also prevents the tendency to spend money on impulse buys at other times of day.
